How To Embed YouTube Video On Blogger

So you created a blogger website and you are wondering how you’re going to embed a youtube video right? I’ve been there and I can relate. In this article I’ll show you how to embed a YouTube video on your blogger site.

Although I think WordPress is the best to create a blog but I can understand if you are just using blogger for a test. Anyways that’s a topic for another day.

So if you want to embed your YouTube video or someone else’s YouTube video. The very first thing is to get the embed code of the YouTube video

How to get the YouTube video embed code

This is one of the simplest things to do. Just head over to YouTube and find the video you would like to embed on your website. Click on the 3 dots at the right side of the video. Then click on share.

You’ll be provided with different options. Click on embed then copy the html code given to you.

Next head over to your blogger website and the exact post you want to add the code.

How to embed YouTube video on blogger

Usually when you start writing an article on blogger, you’ll be writing with “compose view” which presents a “what you see is what you get” (wysiwyg) interface. This interface is very good for beginners without any knowledge of html.

But you can’t paste any embed codes here. So that brings us to the first step.

Step 1: switch to html view

Switching to html view will allow you to paste html codes on the platform. You can even add your own custom codes if you are developer or if you have any previous knowledge of coding. To switch, click on the pen symbol that is at the top left of the interface and then choose html view.

Step 2: paste the embed code

Now, to display the embedded video, paste that code that you copied from YouTube into the exact position you want it to be here. Just a quick note to my coding friends. You can edit the height and width to fit whatever preferences you have.

Step 3: switch back to compose view

This is the last and final step. To see the result of your code, just switch back to compose view and you’ll be able to preview your html code.
