I want to become an email marketer too. But that isn’t the best conclusion to make. There are many things that go into it.

This will make it viewable both on mobile and desktop, and it will increase your open rate too. When people are able to read everything on your headline, they tend to open the emails.

  • Add numbers

When next you write your emails try to add numbers to it. According to research, people click on headlines that have numbers in them more than those without numbers.

  • Use and emoji

And emoji makes your email look conversational. When you use one it can help you to increase your open rate too and this can have a positive impact on your click-through rate.

2. Don’t use spam words

There are a lot of spam words you should avoid if you want to land your emails in their inbox. Words like free, make money etc.

These are words that have been linked to spammers, and most of the email filters have been designed to frown at them whenever they appear.

Some people try to misspell the words so as to avoid spam filters. But I don’t recommend this, just follow the rule and avoid them.

3. Avoid adding affiliate links in your emails

Some email marketers might say no to this but that is what I personally do. I try as much as possible to avoid placing my affiliate links inside my emails.

Of course, this is not always avoidable and there are some really special scenarios where you just have to add an affiliate link. In this case, make sure you shorten the affiliate link or cloak it.

Affiliate links are very long and ugly, adding them exactly the way they are into your emails is unprofessional and doesn’t make sense. So make sure you avoid it or cloak it.

4. Test your emails before you send

There are sites where you can test your emails before sending them. It is very important to test your emails to see if they will land in the inbox before sending them out.

If you test your emails you will know whether or not they will land in your inbox. Besides using these websites, you can send a test email to yourself to see how it will be when it lands in the inbox of your email list.

5. Categorize your email list

This is so powerful, you should always do it. Why? Because when you categorize your email list you will be able to send laser targeted emails.

Your open rates will increase because you will be sending the right message to the right people. This will also increase your click-through rate.

For example, if you have a website related to digital marketing. You can categorize your emails to have bloggers on one side, email marketers on another, and SEOs on another category. This way your message will go out to the right people.

6. Check your sending score

Your sending score is your reputation as an email marketer. If you have a higher sending score, you are less likely to be seen as a spammer. But if your sending score is on the low side, then, you might start seeing some of your emails in the spam box.
